A new take on that oldest and sweetest of stories. Auditioning for a role in “The Christmas Play,” hoping maybe to play a sheep, we hear the Divine Voice challenge:  “I don’t need a sheep! I need a star!” “You’ll . . . you’ll help me?” “That’s my job. My only job.” “You’ll be my director and prompter?” “Every step of the way.” And so, miraculously, we become the fullness of the Christmas story.
